Participate in the COVID-19 Genomic Study

In response to the worldwide COVID-19 outbreak, Silverberry Genomix has launched a genomic study to better understand the current pandemic and improve a preventative response for the future.

You can participate in the study by answering a few questions (takes approximately 3 minutes) and include your DNA file for the study. While we are not determining whether you have or been exposed to COVID-19 in the past, your information will help us better understand your possible vulnerability or resistance to it.

How is the study conducted

The COVID-19 Genomic Study intends to identify genomic susceptibility that alters either the rate of infection or the severity of the disease in response to coronavirus exposure.

The study involves healthy participants that may or may not be exposed to COVID-19. It will look into the effects of various factors including age, comorbidity and lifestyle choices such as smoking in the occurrence of COVID-19 symptoms.

Collection of pre and post universal exposure data from a large number of people in different communities would help us effectively learn and come up with recommendations to counter future pandemics.  Study participants will have their genome analyzed for the presence of protective or susceptibility factors. Users with an existing DNA file can also upload their corresponding files. New users can use the Silverberry DNA Testing Kit with the at-home using a saliva swab. The study volunteers will participate in an ongoing survey and undergo analysis of their genetic markers. The goal of the study is to identify genomic variants that affect diseases in the healthier participants and that can protect them against more severe diseases. We hope to use this knowledge for the development of novel therapies.
